But, if not, here’s the best of the recent news: I have my studio… Pics to follow but I’m well on the way to opening. It’s been a manic few weeks getting everything together but totally worth it. Totally on my own, no-one to judge me, no-one to tell me what to do, no-one to answer to.

I’m kinda stressed out right now hence my lack of activity on dA. It’s been a whirlwind of activity getting a proper business plan together, getting the legalities of the business right, getting the equipment together past that which I already had and getting my promotional strategy together.

The Old Rope Factory have opened their studio… but competition is good. Especially when their press release in our local rag this week was the one written by me before our split and they couldn’t even be bothered to change the wording except for removing anything that pertained to me! Fuck em for their lack of professionalism and lack of originality! I like competition… It makes me hungry!

If there’s one thing that dealing with Jon and Karen taught me it’s to listen to my instincts. I’ve had some great advice recently from school, from my dad and from my new life coach. Yeah, I’ve got a life coach! She’s been great… Her advice has been invaluable. I’ve made a lot of decisions recently by listening to what others have to say. I am not always right… it’s about gut feeling and instinct vs. belligerence and following the same patterns. Break the cycle and do things differently.

The old way was to dig my heels in and do things the way I thought they should be done. The new way is to think first and act later.

I have my studio, I have my art gallery and I have my modelling agency being set up in the background. All I have to do now is prove to those that have had faith in me that the faith was justified and prove to those that didn’t believe in me that they were wrong.
